2 days 1 night Trip to Malacca

Well Oh Well.....

Last Saturday I went to Melaka with my friend. We were from Segamat Johor. We took a bus from Segamat and the journey only took 2 hours. We arrived exactly at 12 pm. Well, we were picked up by Uncle Ben (our tour guide for this trip). It was a joy to meet Uncle Ben after quite  a long time since my convocation last year. Meeting old friend is always a joy for me.

Well, the first thing that we did after touch down Melaka was going for lunch in Jonker Street. Of course, the first food that we ate was Melaka's famous food which was Baba Laksa Kahwin Nyonya Asam Laksa. The stall that we went was Jonker 88 which is quite famous in Jonker Street. When we arrived there, there was quite a long queue there and hard to find seat. Thankfully we managed to get one. What can I say about the Asam Laksa? It was so delicious, until now, I am still thinking about it. Really worth to queue for it. And it only costs you RM5++.

Apart from the Asam Laksa, we were also having the famous Baba Chendol @Jonker 88. Although, there were not much things in it, the outer appearance definitely looked attractive and make you want to try it. Besides Baba Chendol, there are much more you can try there. But, of course, I want to try the basic one. Maybe next trip, I will try others.

Baba Chendol.. Very mouthwatering..
Jonker 88.. Quite a long queue

Aside from Baba Chendol and Asam Laksa, we also managed to buy famous Pineapple tart for only RM8 at LW Nyonya Pineapple Tart @Jonker Street.

Then, after having lunch, since it was so hot, we went to Mahkota Parade and Dataran Pahlawan, two of the large malls in Melaka. They are only beside each other. Shopping a bit and managed to get my Starbucks though. Tried the mocha cookie crumble frappucinno, new season drink by Starbucks XD

When the sun was almost loosen its sunlight a bit, we went to visit few historical places such as A Famosa, Christ Church, Stadthuys and Maritime Museum. The Maritime Museum itself is a replica of the 'Flora de La Mar', a Portuguese ship that sank off the coast of Melaka while on its way to Portugal, carrying loot plundered from Melaka. However, we didn't enter the museum. All these historical places located at 1 place. So, can just walk by foot to all these buildings.

After visiting, we back to our hotel to have some rest before we continue that night again. We're staying at ND Hotel, near Mahkota Parade. 10 mins walk. Costed me only RM120 for 2 single twin bed. However, I got king bed instead. The hotel didn't worth my money though. Although the hotel is comfortable and new but it doesn't have tea making facilities and the TV only has local channels.

At night, we went to Wok and Pan restaurant (near Plaza Mahkota), a western food restaurant.  It's quite famous as there a lot of people went there. We have to sit outside as inside was full, even upstairs.  Business hours are from 12pm to 3pm, 6pm to 10pm (Closed on Monday). If you want to eat pork chop, you may come here. There are many types: Herb, BBQ, Mexican etc. Well, I tried the herbs one, but it didn't not satisfied me.  However, that is not important as the purpose was to reunite with my ex-coursemates. I managed to meet Eping after quite a longtime (Last time was at the end of university last year). Then the night went on by having yamcha at Station 1.

Next day, we went out for breakfast. This time, bakkut teh. It was quite cheap for me as it only costed us RM33 only for 3 person. So, really worth it. But the taste is so-so only.

Then, we went to Nadeje Patisserie Cafe (famous french mille crepe') at Mahkota Plaza. When we went there, there was a long queue already. Nadeje is quite famous, that's why. I guess most of them are visitors from outside Melaka. However, since we didn't want to wait longer, we chose to sit outside instead.

After that, before we get back to Segamat, we went for a late lunch at 3 pm. Uncle Ben brought us to a duck noodle stall, Tempura duck noodle. It costed only RM3. The taste is nice but not as nice as asam laksa that I tried the day before.

And that's the end of my journey in Melaka. There's a lot of Melaka famous food that I haven't tried yet such as chicken rice ball @Hoe Kee Chicken Rice or Chung Wah Restaurant , pork satay @ Sun May Hiong Satay House, coconut shake @ Klebang, satay celup @ Restoran Ban Lee Siang, naan and tandoori chicken @Pak Putra, and Peranakan food @Restoran Ole Sayang. Well, I can try them in my next trip to Melaka. Well, to get more nice places for food hunting in Melaka, I like to go to this website: http://food.malaysiamostwanted.com/locations/Melaka

That's all for today. =)

BitterSweet Weekend XD

LAST weekend was a bittersweet time indeed for me.. WHY? On 21st of July, my final sem result finally came out.. During my study in UMS, never before result came out soooo early.. Usually the result will come out few days before entering the new sem.. Well, I was quite happy that they came out early because I want to apply job..

HOWEVER, the outcome was really bitter for me.. I was hoping that I will get GPA 3.00 > for my final sem but it didn't.. When I looked at my result, my heart was broken into pieces.. I was extremely disappointed because my result was too far away from my expectation. I got 2.5@2.6 (cant really remember) if I'm not mistaken.. I felt very angry until I can't really remember what I got this sem.. And I was not willing to check back because I was frustrated..

I was disappointed with Plant Design where I got C for it.. Did u know how frustrated am I to know that i got C? I've put so much time on it yet I still got C. My life in my final sem was miserable because of it. How on earth I got C, while, one of my group members able to get A for it.. My work too bad is it? I don't think so.. My other one group member also has the same fate like me..

WHY oh WHY.. I cannot believe it.. This was all examiner' fault..

Besides that, I was also disappointed with my final year project where I've got B only.. I was expecting B+ above.. I guess my examiner really didn't satisfied with my work.. I already knew it from my VIVA after she commented few things..  It's not my fault, I just followed my supervisor's advice.. I just didn't deserved to get B since this was kinda a new research. So simply give my B only.. I already suggested few things to my supervisor but he said no need.. Was it my fault too????? I just FOLLOWED my supervisor..

Sigh... BUT I know that the pointer doesn't matter because overall, I still got above 3 for my CGPA.. However, I was still frustrated because I was hoping to do well in my final sem, AT LEAST, getting dean list ONCE.. But that was only a dream that I will never will achieve.

HOWEVER, this disappointment, I tried to forget where at the same time also, my family and I was spending our weekend at Miri Marriott Resort and Spa.. I played tennis (my second time ever to play tennis) and did some workouts at the gym.. After that, we went to Waterfront to have seafood for dinner.. Was kinda sad no crab available that time :( Then, straight after dinner, we went back to Marriott, and my 2 sisters (Cath and Daph) and Daph's friend, MeiMei and myself went to the swimming pool to have some fun although we don't know how to swim.. Well, I still love to go to swimming pool..
Seafooood... XD

Oh yes, before I finished my post, I would like to comment on recent released movie, Dark Knight Rises (Batman).. Damn I super hate the antagonist called Bane ( Tom Hardy).. Feel like want to punch his face jak.. Haha.. The movie took almost 3 hours and it costs me RM10 at Star Cineplex Miri.. At first, when I bought the ticket, I felt that the ticket was kinda expensive for a small cinema.. However, after I watched the movie, I felt that my RM10 was really worth it.. Why??? Because the movie was SUPER AWESOME.. I must say that it was 10 times better than AVENGERS.. Can't believe it?? Go watch it then :D

The End Of My University Life =)

IT was great to end my university life finally after 4 years of suffering on the 3rd of July 2012 where I have officially submitted my thesis. My feeling during that time was null. No overjoy feeling. Perhaps, I already overjoyed after my viva which was on the 2nd of July. However, I am proud with myself that I finally able to finished my study in bachelor of chemical engineering. It was SUPERRRR tough indeed especially in my FINAL year aka the MOST HATED year where I was completely SHOCKED with loads of assignments. , I'm glad that it was all over. Phewwww...

C Nenek after viva..

Eping, Eling and Tausa..

Aisah and Chris..

HOWEVER, although university life has gave me suffering, it also gave me the memorable experiences on which I have experienced with my coursemates. They are the best coursemates after all. Although I dislike chemical engineering, I still love my coursemates the most (although the guys arent gentlemen and handsome as the guys from other engineering courses.. Wakaka). I cant imagine if I was with other engineering courses. The guys are so open minded, no worry hanging out with them. The girls, I just loved to make fun with. Overall, they are just UNIQUE.

FEW days before I left KK and after my thesis was submitted, I did a  lot of activities especially food activities since I love food so much. Guess what?? I'd spent almost RM100 in 2 days just for food! I went to the Korean BBQ restaurant in Likas with Karen and Uncle Ben to have my longing SAMGYEOPSAL where we spent almost RM30 per person (Luckily got 30% discount). It was delicious but the portion was too little for RM27. After lunch, we went to watch movie 'Amazing Spiderman' in Suria Sabah and had our dinner in Upperstar. This time I ate nasi lemak king instead of grilled lambchop ( I had this everytime I went to Upperstar). It is good to have something different sometimes. But still I prefer having lambchop.

NEXT day, I also had a great time where I went to Karamunsing for Karaoke-ing with some frens from computer and civil eng. I love karaoke-ing so much. The best karaoke-ing experience that I've ever had was during my 3rd year with my fellow coursemates where we karaoke-ing until 3 am in Suria Sabah. Crazy huh?

Flash back:The effect of karaoke-ing until 3 am..

Boss still energetic with the blanket provided by the karaoke  place

And after karaoke-ing, we went to Waterfront to have seafood at a stall belong to a former Sutera Harbour Resort chef. It was very satisfyinggggg and hopefully it will be still open for my convo time later in the October.

NEXT day, again I spent so much. Had lunch in a Malay restaurant opposite of Sutera Harbour where I paid RM11 for fish, daun ubi, and sirap bandung. So expensiveeeee and not worth the money.. huh.. I just forgot that fish in KK usually cost u RM5.. Never mind.. Too late.. Then, we went for a movie called BRAVE in Suria Sabah after sending a fren to the airport. The movie was okay, never expected that the conflict of the story was the mother of the main character became a bear. But then, it worth my money though.

AND finally to conclude my story here, just want to say that I had great experiences in KK during my 4 years study. The experiences were just irreplaceable. Many lengzai somemore.. My eyes always fully cleaned.. Hihihi.. But shamed that I never went to any Sabah Islands.. haha.. never mind. I just go there with my Sarawakian frens la in some other times. I think that's all for now for my first blog post! What do u think of my first blogpost ? Not bad huh for a first timer? =)
